THE ‘MAPPING THE WORLD' DIRECTORY

The directory contains information on a wide variety of women's information centres and services throughout the world, including details of the collection or documentation they provide, as well as addresses and the name of a contact person for each organization. These services are divided into the following geographical areas: Africa (South of Sahara); Asia and the Pacific; Central and South America; Europe (Eastern); Europe (Western); Middle East and North Africa; and finally, North America. For easy reference, there are two indexes: an alphabetical index of organizational titles and a geographical index by country. The directory overlaps the database on the ‘Mapping the World' website of the International Information Centre and Archives for the Women´s Movement (IIAV).

ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY AND WEB RESOURCES

The bibliography contains some 75 references to a selection of books, journal articles, book chapters, conference papers and electronic articles dealing with women's information, networks, and information and communication technologies (ICTs). Each record is complemented by an abstract. Some of the references are only available as unpublished documents on the Web. Where this is the case, the URL or website address is given as part of the reference. The bibliography is followed by a list of World Wide Web resources, which provide access to additional information on women's organizations, women and ICTs, gender studies, newsletters, and journals.
