Michael Burke,
Fair Trade Coordinator / Intern (Assistant to Minu Hemmati)
Michael
Burke was born in Killeshin, Ireland in 1971. He was raised in Tipperary,
Ireland and Johannesburg, South Africa before settling in London. He is an
Environmental Science graduate whose undergraduate research was primarily
concerned with resource-use conflict management, focusing specifically on the
nesting beaches of Western Pacific sea turtle populations. Michael has also
undertaken the Common Professional Examination to gain a qualification in law.
His research during this course focused on international trading rules and their
tendency to undermine domestic legislation designed to protect the environment
and human health. Michael is currently the Ethical
Trade Coordinator for Stakeholder Forum. In addition, he provides assistance
to Minu Hemmati.
