Implementation Conference: Stakeholder Action For Our Common Future

“Engagement” Meeting;

Bonn, Wednesday December 5th; 1830-2030

You are invited to participate in a meeting intended to enrol and engage you in the multi-stakeholder implementation conference ("Stakeholder Action For Our Common Future", IC) being held in Johannesburg in August 2002, facilitated by Stakeholder Forum for Our Common Future (formerly UNED Forum).

Context

Global sustainable development agreements need sustained and proactive global action to deliver the desired results. The IC has been created to facilitate implementation of agreements, on selected issues, through COLLABORATIVE STAKEHOLDER ACTION.

Freshwater is one of the four selected issues. This meeting has been set up to make the link from the International Freshwater processes so far to the possibility of rigorous action and implementation through stakeholder collaboration and the IC process.

Meeting Purpose

To engage stakeholder representatives in the Implementation Conference and the possibility of participating in the “Issue Advisory Group" (IAG) for Freshwater.

Desired Outcome

People are fully informed about the IC and agree to let Minu Hemmati know, by mid January, whether they want to participate in the Water IAG.
