Sustainable Finance: Seeking Global Financial Security

Addressing the critical need for a more integrated and sustainable financial system, this paper draws together a broad range of viewpoints from different groups and sectors. The paper examines current trends in public and private financial systems. Then it goes on to describe some of the existing instruments and institutional frameworks to deal with:

  • short term financial volatility and crises;

  • long term financial insecurity

The paper profiles some of the key ideas that have been proposed for financial reform, before finally outlining key questions that will need to be addressed in the future.
