Food Security

Food insecurity is linked many issues - poverty; low income; poor infrastructure (such as  transport and communication); inequitable access to land, water, credit and markets. Other issues also exacerbate food insecurity, including internal conflicts and war, natural (or human-related) disasters, such as floods and droughts. This paper presents a background to some of these most pressing global and regional food security problems and outlines some of the proposed strategies to try and tackle them.
